How Do I Get My Diploma?

After graduation each semester, diplomas will be mailed out or made available to pick up. Students are emailed when diplomas are ready for distribution.

  • Diplomas with missing grades are not eligible for mailing.
  • Call 913-588-7055 to confirm your diploma is available to pick up. A photo ID is required to pick up your diploma.
  • We are located in G035 Dykes Library. Hours are Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

  • If you requested to have your diploma held for pick up but are no longer able to do so, email us from your school email address and provide your mailing address.
  • If you can no longer access your KU Medical Center email, you will need to mail a written request to the Registrar's Office containing the mailing address for your diploma and your official signature.
  • There is a $25 fee to mail a diploma internationally. To have your diploma sent internationally, complete and submit the International Mailing of an Original Diploma Order Form (PDF).
  • Requests via telephone or from non-KU Medical Center email addresses will not be processed.

Replacement Diploma

Replacement or duplicate diplomas (PDF) are available for order. These are for display purposes and are like the one you received after graduation.

If you need a copy of your diploma for verification purposes, request a certified copy of your diploma instead of a replacement diploma.

The cost for a replacement diploma is $20 for delivery by domestic regular mail, $25 for delivery by domestic certified mail or $35 for delivery by non-domestic certified mail. Please allow at least eight weeks for delivery once the order is placed.

Certified Copy of Diploma

You may request a certified copy of your diploma if you are a current student. These are 8.5" x 11" paper copies of your diploma that display the school seal, registrar's signature and certifying statement. These are typically used for proving your degree in order to obtain professional licenses, certifications, employment or other verifications.

There is no charge for a certified copy of your diploma. You will also need to include the physical mailing address where you would like the certified copy sent. Because it has our embossed school seal, we cannot email or fax a certified copy.

Credentials on Certificate

Resident and fellow certificates may include the awardee's previous degree earned with the name (John Doe, Ph.D.; Sally Jones, M.D.). The previous degree must match the official degree earned and can not be converted to an equivalent degree. For foreign medical institutions, the official degree conferred is verified by searching the Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research database. This database is endorsed by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates.

MSPE Letter

Medical Doctorate (M.D.) students can request a copy of their MSPE Letter, also known as your Dean's Letter, by completing the MSPE Letter Request Form (PDF) and submitting it to the Registrar's Office. MSPE Letters can be mailed, faxed or emailed, per the student's request.

If you need your letter to complete the ERAS residency application, please submit your request to the Registrar's Office through the ERAS system.
