Overview
Clinical interests
I am a transplant nephrologist and a physician-scientist. I work with patients with kidney disease for their pre-transplant evaluation, manage patients during the peri-transplant period, and care for them after their transplant.
Research interests
My research interests have developed from my clinical experiences. I strive to provide better care and quality of life to my patients through my research. My research is on geriatric nephrology and hypertension with a focus on cognitive impairment, frailty, and quality of life in aging and in patients with a high burden of vascular disease. My work is funded by the NIH and focuses on early detection and prevention of cognitive impairment and frailty, with a heavy focus on patient centered outcomes.
I have served in journal editorial boards, NIH study sections, and Data Safety and Monitoring Boards for NIH studies.
