About Academic Accommodation Services

Equal and effective access to education is one key to opening the doors of mainstream society to people with disabilities. We are committed to helping all admitted students reach their academic goals. Academic accommodations for students with disabilities is overseen by the ADA Compliance program, which is part of the Office of Integrity & Compliance.

We help facilitate and provide equal educational access and opportunity for all members of our community. We work closely with faculty in each school to provide reasonable accommodations to qualified students, and we offer support services to students who have documented disabilities or impairments and who demonstrate the need for specific academic adjustments.

To qualify for services, you must self-identify by registering and submitting appropriate documentation to support your accommodation request by completing a New Application for Academic Accommodations. We will then engage in an interactive process with the student and their academic program in accordance with our policies. Through this collaborative effort, we can make your KU Medical Center experience a more rewarding and gratifying one.
