Physical Therapy

Faculty from the Department of Physical Therapy, Rehabilitation Science and Athletic Training are actively engaged in a range of clinical experiences with the local community.

  • driving and mobility services.
  • interdisciplinary specialty neurology clinics, focused on amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and muscular dystrophy.
  • the Multiple Sclerosis Achievement Center.
  • JaySTART, a student-run, interdisciplinary, pro bono clinic.

Karen Bock, MPT, CWS, CLT

At the ALS Clinic, Bock provides physical therapy services to individuals with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. She has specialized expertise as a certified wound specialist as well as being a certified lymphedema therapist.

Mary Crouch Young, DPT, PT

Crouch Young provides physical therapy services in several KU clinics. She is director of physical therapy at the Multiple Sclerosis Achievement Center and also is active at the Muscular Dystrophy Association adult and pediatric multidisciplinary clinics.

Hannes Devos, Ph.D., DMS

As director of the Driving and Mobility Services Clinic at KU Medical Center, Devos is using virtual reality, eye tracking and driving simulation technologies to address the needs of patients with neurological conditions. He has more than 15 years of experience addressing driving and mobility needs for individuals with medical conditions.

Devos is specialized in fitness-to-drive assessments, driving rehabilitation, low-tech car modifications, and alternative modes of transportation.

Scarlett Morris, DPT, PT, MTC, OCS

Morris provides physical therapy services to patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis in the ALS Clinic.

Jason Rucker, Ph.D., PT

Rucker provides physical therapy services as a member of the multidisciplinary team at the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Center of Excellence at KU Medical Center.

His clinical expertise includes physical activity, exercise, and rehabilitation for individuals with neuromuscular impairments and chronic diseases.
