Facts Not Fear ICT aims to improve health literacy, health disparities and access to health care, all of which have deteriorated as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Through community outreach and events, including local health sessions, our work focuses on improving positive health outcomes for Wichita communities.
Facts Not Fear ICT works to engage the community and ensure the work is informed by the community. Our work is informed by an advisory board, volunteers and the community at large. We welcome your participation!
Facts Not Fear ICT aims to improve health literacy among adult men and women 18 years of age or older within priority populations in Wichita. The primary priority populations that Facts Not Fear ICT intends to serve are adults, 18 years of age or older in Wichita, who are: Hispanic or Latino, Black or African American, Asian and American Indian and Alaska Native. These racial and ethnic groups are at the highest risk for health disparities and low health literacy.
Facts Not Fear ICT aims to incorporate priority populations into the development, implementation and evaluation of project efforts.
Facts Not Fear ICT aims to empower health care providers to effectively communicate with patients, check their understanding and involve them in decision-making as much as they want.
Facts Not Fear ICT aims to increase access to COVID-19 testing and vaccination resources in priority populations in Wichita.
