Nursing students have several opportunities for international experiences during their time at KU Medical Center.
Nursing students can arrange a summer experience between their third and fourth year of training. In recent years, students participated in short-term projects in Panama, the UK and Peru.
Nursing students can also incorporate an international experience into their population-based community healthcare course taken during the fourth year. Past students have traveled to Guatemala, Uganda, Belgium, Zambia, India, Scotland, New Zealand and elsewhere.
The Office of International Programs manages international educational experiences. Visit their website to explore opportunities or to request more information.
Nursing students are also eligible to participate in special programs alongside peers from the schools of Health Professions and Medicine, coordinated by the Office of International Programs.
